There are no bad ways. Just be yourself and don't worry about it.

I agree with Joe, if you love this woman with all your heart and soul there is nothing more you have to do, but ask. Good Luck.

Come into the room dressed in a clownsuit , bozo hair, and squeeky nose. Hand her a baloon that says Will you marry me..

I'm with semgirl...Do something different. Don't do something everyone else has done...make it something memorable. Something that you guys can tell the grandkids about. Make it public...lol That would be cute. At an Airport or something.Wearing a bright redsweatshirt that says will you marry me?

Pure and simple, "I love you, I want to make everyday Valentine’s day, Mother's day and Holy Day" for you for the rest our lives. All you have to do for me is say Yes and let me spend the rest of my life proving it to you.

this is so cute!
I have no idea what you should do, hypothetically of course, but I know what you shouldn't do: don't put the ring in any drink, cake, or anything that will go anywhere near her mouth. It's disturbing and if she swallows it that could put a damper on the celebration.
I agree with eshet chayil-make it public, that's more fun! good luck!

Bri-What makes you say it is not hypothetical ;-)? your idea is a good one but it seems so unoriginal, she said I better make it a good one and I don't want to dissapoint her.

Semgirl- hmmm, interesting...I'll think about that one, but I don't think she would like it. She also didn't like that idea about the ring in the cake. Sorry, she is picky in somethings.

Eishes Chayil- Thanks for the advice. I am a shy kind of guy and I don't like attention but I will try to make it memoriable. Maybe in a semi-public place.

araya- Thanks for the sound advice I wont do something like you mentioned. She specifically told me of about 20 ways I can't do because she has heard of them.

Any other ideas?

No comment on mine... just look her in the eyes and be honest. If you can't tell her you love her and want stand at her side for ther test of time in this world and the next, don't do it. I have had so many unhappily married men complain to me. (that's why I am still single) It's not a "club" this is your soul and ther rest of your existance. Love every minute of it :)

Wow, hatzlachah...

Do you have any private jokes? I find that those are the best proposals.

If she doesn't know when to expect it, you could randomly get "lost" and then end up wherever you're planning to propose, with everything set up. You'd have to be a good actor, though.

I called her mother (in front of her) to ask if it was ok for us to get married.

As long as you are smart enough not to put the ring in the food I'm confident that you will be able to think of something good.

What are her hobbies-is there anything specific she likes? Just go somewhere that you know she would like and if she has interesting hobbies you could probably think of something creative.
Do something crazy-the first thing that pops into your head. It seems like she wants origional and personnal, so just think crazy. It will mellow out once it happens anyway so the crazier the better.

Lvnsm27-Thank you!

LBPT- I will, Bezras Hashem!

Holeches- Interesting idea, however, I don't have much of a sense of humor except sarcasim, and I am not much of an actor, usually when I get lost it is for real... I don't want to have to fake it, it is too painful.

Duvie- Hmmm, what did her mother have to say?
